They are highly professional and compassionate people, many of whom have worked with us or in the profession for over 20 years. They will guide you through each and every step at your own pace and are always at the end of the phone whenever you need them, with a friendly ear and practical advice. You can visit our premises to arrange the funeral of your loved one or we will come to your home.

Our Story
“We asked everyone to wear something blue”
Our story lies with the former owner of A L & G Abbott, Peter Robert Wilkinson. Beloved husband, cherished father and much loved grandfather to me and my cousins.
Grandad was a classy man, and we wanted a funeral that reflected his sophistication and had a traditional feel to it. Abbotts were able to meet these needs and deliver the funeral with compassion.
As a family, we felt it was important that Grandad’s funeral reflected some part of him, so we asked everyone who was attending to wear something blue. Grandad was known for wearing blue, everyday, so not only did this add a touch of his personality but it was heartwarming that we were able to celebrate his life dressed in his favourite colour.

Arranging a funeral is deeply personal which is why we offer a completely bespoke service with our traditional funeral. We also have two fixed-cost options which are the simple funeral and direct cremation.
To assist you in comparing our charges with those of other funeral directors, we have a standardised price list based upon the CMA’s definition of a funeral where family and friends attend.
