Cemetaries and Burials

Please see our section on disbursements for details of how much you can expect to pay for a minister or a civil celebrant to charge for conducting a service in either a church or chapel.

In addition to this, you can expect to pay around £325 for the services of a grave digger.

You may already have a plot reserved, either in a churchyard or a cemetery. Churchyard plots are now restricted to local residents due to the scarcity of plots available. Cemeteries will often charge you more for the burial service if you are a non-resident. Churchyard fees vary from £116 to £232.

              Bedford cemeteries, including Foster Hill and Norse Road (MK41 0RL)

              Kempston Cemetery (MK43 8RL)

              Churchyard cemeteries of churches in Kempston and all surrounding villages
